Chapter 20 – THEO AND HIS FATHER

Family court did not erase Colin.

He had failed me.

He had not physically harmed Theo.

He had fed him.

Changed him.

Loved him.

Also left too much to me.

Both.

Temporary parenting began with short daytime contact after the court reviewed the circumstances.

No Marcia present.

Why?

Because I requested it and the court found her involvement in the coercive household pattern relevant to safety and boundaries.

Not permanent.

Initial.

Colin came to the family center.

Theo was ten weeks old.

He held him.

Cried.

Theo spit up on his shirt.

Colin laughed through tears.

I watched through the transition window.

Part of me wanted to say:

You should have held him at two in the morning.

That part was true.

I did not say it there.

The visit was for Theo.

Not my closing argument.
