I did not read the first three letters.

Mostly blame.

Loneliness.

Regret shaped like self-pity.

Then one came five years later.

Alicia said, “This one is different.”

I used your grief because I did not respect it.

I used Madison because I did not respect her.

I used your mother’s house because I believed what I wanted mattered more than what was yours.

I called you unstable because I was afraid of being seen clearly.

I am not asking forgiveness.

I am admitting the shape of what I did.
