A late-night taco delivery turned into a hilarious standoff with three hungry raccoons.

A Florida woman’s late-night taco craving ended in one of the funniest food thefts of the year after three unexpected visitors beat her to the delivery.

Caterina Sevares had ordered tacos through DoorDash and was eagerly waiting for her food to arrive. After receiving the delivery notification, she stepped outside expecting to grab her meal.

Instead, she found the delivery bag ripped open on her doorstep.

As she looked around to figure out what had happened, she spotted the culprits—a trio of raccoons happily enjoying her tacos just a few feet away.

Rather than running off, one of the raccoons stood on its hind legs and stared directly at her, almost as if it were daring her to take the food back.

“I just wanted tacos,” Sevares joked in the now-viral TikTok video.

The footage quickly spread across social media, with millions of views and thousands of comments. Many viewers couldn’t stop laughing at the raccoon’s bold behavior, with one commenter writing that it looked like the animal was saying, “I bet you won’t fight me for it.”

Fortunately, no one was injured during the unusual encounter. After watching the raccoons finish their unexpected feast, Sevares decided the tacos were beyond saving.

To make up for the lost meal, the taco restaurant later reached out and provided her with a gift card.

While food theft by raccoons isn’t unheard of in Florida, few incidents have been captured so perfectly on camera, making this one of the internet’s favorite funny animal stories of 2024.
